Jerusalem of Gold
is not only a crown or a song.
It has been borrowed
for other uses as well.
This page is devoted

The
ISRAEL GOVERNMENT COINS
AND MEDALS CORPORATION
issued in 1983
a Jerusalem of Gold State Medal.
The obverse side is a stylized panorama
of reunited Jerusalem
with outstanding landmarks,
arranged in a free composition,
the word "Jerusalem" appearing
in both Hebew and English.
On the reverse side is a lion,
symbol of the city,
encircled by the word Jerusalem
in twenty different languages.
On the edge is the emblem
of the State of Israel.
The words "State of Israel"
appear in Hebrew and English.
The coin is 22 millimeters in diameter
and weighs 7 grams.

is a prestigious award
conferred upon individuals
for outstanding communal service
sponsored by the Jewish National Fund.
